Drei der Songs sollte eigentlich Hank Williams aufnehmen, der dann aber starb. George McCormick war musikalischer Kopf von Porter Wagoners Wagonmasters und Dolly Partons erster Duettpartner in Wagoners TV-Show. Earl Aycock arbeitete später als DJ in Texas und Louisiana. Zur CD gehört ein 40-seitiges Booklet von Martin Hawkins; es enthält unveröffentlichte Interviews mit George McCormick. -- Diese CD präsentiert zwei sehr unterschiedliche Sänger und Musiker, die in nur zwei Jahren einige der besten und interessantesten Aufnahmen der 1950er-Jahre eingespielt haben. Der damals noch vorherrschende Hank-Williams-Sound machte nur langsam Platz für neue Strömungen innerhalb der populären Country Music und des aufkommenden Rockabilly. George und Earl schufen ein Bindeglied zwischen den Country-Duetten der 30er, 40er und 50er Jahre (wie etwa den Delmores und Louvins) zum Harmony-Sound der Country Music nach der Rockabilly-Ära. Kommerziell konnten sie mit den Everly Brothers zwar nicht mithalten, aber ihr Duett-Stil war äußerst ungewöhnlich und überdauerte eine große Zeitspanne.

George and Earl together provided a link from the country duets of the '30s, '40s and '50s, the likes of the Delmores and the Louvins, to the harmonies of country music as developed after the rockabilly era. In terms of commercial success they were outgunned by the Everly Brothers, but they had a very different duet style and one that has endured just as long.
