He was born in 1875 in Arkansas. After visiting St. Louis' World Fair in 1904, he began traveling the USA. In the 1950s he returned to St. Louis where, at the end of the decade, these fine recoridngs were made. Roy Brown was working as a one-man-band in the streets of St. Louis, performing his huge repertoire of cowboy songs, folk, and popular tunes of his times.
