Und dann ging seine Plattenfirma (Cannoball) pleite. Es dauerte ein paar Jahre; doch schließlich gibt es ein neues Album von diesem wahrlich eleganten Detroiter Bluesmann. Er spielt lässig, besitzt einen wunderbaren natürlichen Ton und singt mit Überzeugung. Ein bärenstarkes Comeback!

In 1955 he started to work professionally by hooking up with pianist Joe Weaver. During the 1990s he was leading one of the world's best bluesbands. Then his record label went bust. It took a couple of years to record this comeback album. It was worth the wait. Johnnie's still the elegant player with the mellow voice. Great album.
