Lurrie blüht auf und liefert uns sein bestes Album seit vielen Jahren mit Songs von Ray Agee, Andrew Brown, Hip Linkchain, Willie Williams oder Willie Dixon. Begleitet von einer exquisiten Studioband klingt Lurrie frisch und optimistisch. Der Blues aus Chicago kommt lässig und cool daher. Sehr zu empfehlen.

While previous albums where focussing on his life's dark sides, drug abuse, demons and personal tragics, he sounds positive on his new one. Producer Matthew Skoller has hand-picked blues songs about love and feelings, tunes written by an array of well and lesser known artists like Billy Flynn, Smokey Smothers, Roebuck Staples, et al. He's backed by a crew of great players and he sounds full of good spirits and energy. To sum-up, this is an excellent, cool-sounding set of contemporary Chicago Blues. Recommended.
