(2002 'Double Barrel') (50:41/13) Nach den rockigen Mudsharks und den surf-orientierten Tiki Torchers hat sich Bandleader Scottie Blinn etwas Neues einfallen lassen. Aus den Mudsharks wurde schlicht "Mud", und mit den Sharks verschwand die elektrische Verstärkung nahezu komplett. Ziel war es wohl, die Atmosphäre des Blues der 50er Jahre wieder zu beleben. Musikalisch, selbst bei den eigenen Songs, ist das ganz gut gelungen. Einzig Scotties Gesang klingt streckenweise arg gequält / the Mississippi Mudsharks were a hard-driving, rocking blues combo. Scottie Blinn's next project, the Tiki Torchers, were more of a surf band. No sharks anymore, (almost) no electric amplification, and the name reduced to 'Mud'. Their style is based on 1950s urban blues (basicly from Chicago or Louisiana); mostly originals. The music is fine, but Scottie's vocals sound a bit superficial.
