Hier sind all jene versammelt, deren musikalische Wurzeln im Blues liegen mögen, die jedoch eine wesentlich härtere Gangart als ihre Kollegen bevorzugen: Blues/Rock in Reinkultur mit dem Augenmerk auf Gitarrentechnik und heavy Sounds. Aktuell steht Joe Bonamassa stellvertrend für dieses Genre, das u.a. von Musikern wie Johnny Winter, Leslie West und später Stevie Ray Vaughan geprägt wurde. Zu den bekannten Namen heute zählen u.a.
