During the 1920s, record companies like Paramount Records, or the Victor Company's Bluebird label, began to make recordings for the African-Americans. They called it 'race music'. Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie Johnson, the Mississippi Sheiks, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Boy Fuller, Charlie Patton, Blind Willie McTell, kokomo Arnold were some of the most popular recording artists of the 1920s. A few years later, Robert Johnson appeared on the scene, changing the world of blues, forever. His songs remain popular, even today.
