Worldwide, Bear Family is known for in-depth CD-retrospectives, often covering the entire recording career of some of the most significant artists in music history. Our various CD-series are also reflecting Bear Family's committment to research, sound quality, extensive, often newly reserached liner notes, and previously unheard tracks, and unpublished photos. Our vast catalog of CD-series are covering different aspects of popular music's history, either by theme, history, or genre.
Our documentations on Doo-Wop ('Street Corner Symphonies'), Rhythm 'n' Blues ('Blowin' The Fuse'), and Soul ('Sweet Soul Music'), covering the entire history with year-by-year CD releases, have been extremely well received by music fans and critics alike. 'That'll Flat Git It!' must be regarded the best ever series on the history of vintage Rockabilly, and Rock 'n' Roll, presenting the greatest rocking tracks as recorded by the original labels. The 'Rocks' series was started in 2002, and is still going strong with single artist CDs presenting the greatest rocking tracks.
