'The Lost Tapes' would have been an appropriate title for this great set. Bill's widow Jeannette found a couple of mostly unlabelled tape boxes, unissued recordings. Consequently personnel and recording data is a matter of guessing. Although some song titles may sound familiar, these recordings are made available for the first time. Most versions have been recorded prior to the ones that were released on LP at the time. The sound quality is good. What we have here is another brilliant jewel, a testimony celebrating the music of one the greatest blues harmonica players, ever. You may expect pearls like an 8-minute slow blues featuring Ronnie Earl on guitar, and Bill playing chromatic.
