Produziert von Ronnie Baker Brooks, Lonnie Brooks' Sohn und geschäftstüchtigen Vermarkter seiner eigenen Musik, hat sich Eddy auf seine musikalischen in Chicagos Westside besonnen und ein Album abgeliefert, dass die Energie und die Gitarrenvirtuosität von längst verstorbenen Kollegen wie Freddie King, Luther Allison oder Magic Sam widerspiegelt. Okay. I have to admit that I had been expecting NOTHING from this album. You don't know how wrong I was! This is one of the strongest releases within the Chicago type of blues idiom I have heard in a long, long time. Although 73-years of age, the Chief sounds young, powerful and extremely creative. Produced by Ronnie Baker Brooks, Clearwater has produced one of his all-time best albums. Focussing on the the blues style from Chicago's westside, as it had been created by masters like Magic Sam and Otis Rush, the Chief's music sounds fresh and up-to-date. Outstanding!
