Wer war/ist The Sunbeams ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD und mehr

During the first half of the 60s there was only one Norwegian popgroup that made it outside Norway. Their name was The Sunbeams, a group mainly featuring roaring saxophone instrumentals.

They came from Eidsvall, a small village by Miosa, Norway's largest lake. And throughout their career, they remained semi-pro's as school and other jobs prevented them from going on a full time career. The members were Eil W Finbraten - Tenorsax, Jan E Brustad - Drums, Ole K Fredriksen - Lead Guitar, Bjorn V Smedsrud - Rhythm Guitar and Ole N Molstad - Bass.

The Band first started in September 1962 and half a year later they won a recording contract, which led to the recording of their first hit 'I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Cocoanuts'. This recording was a big hit in both Norway, Sweden and Danmark.  It was also released in Germany. Belgium, Holland, Austria. and many other countries.

The Sunbeams appeared on TV and toured Scandinavia several times and also made a trip to Germany.  During their career, they released seven singles in Norway, but after 'Cocoanut', their only big hit was 'Grand Pa'.

The group splitted in the summer of 1964, since the members had been called for military services.
