made in Moscow in 1936. His friend Grigory Schneer-
son had received the song directly from Spain to-
gether with
Unión Hermanos Proletarios
(see No. 15).
He
later wrote: "At the artists’ theater in Moscow Busch
had met the well-known actor Vassily Katchalov. They de-
cided to make a record together, with vocals and recita-
tion. I arranged 'Bandera roja' and 'Unión Hermanos
Proletarios' for a small instrumental ensemble, Katchalov
prepared the Russian lyrics, Busch worked on the Span-
ish lyrics. For this project we invited the announcer of the
Spanish editorial department from Radio Moscow. Within
one hour he taught Busch the pronunciation of the Span-
ish words. Then we did the recording. First Vassily
Ivanovitch read the Russian translation to the rhythm of
the music, then Busch stepped up to the microphone and
sang the songs in the original language. Regardless of its
technical imperfections, this recording is of great artistic
and historical value even today."

adquirió gran
popularidad en todo el país. Luego, durante la Guerra

mente:
"En el Teatro de Niños de Moscú, Busch acababa de
conocer al famoso octor ruso Cáchalov. Entre ambos deci-
dieron grabar un disco con canto y narración. Así, hice arre-
glos de 'Bandera roja' y de 'Unión Hermanos Proletarios'
para pequeño ensamble instrumental. Mientras que Cácha-
lov preparó los textos en ruso, Busch trabajó en los textos en
español. Luego le pedimos al locutor de la redacción espa-
ñola de Radio Moscú que le enseñara a Busch cómo pronun-
ciar las palabras en castellano. Hicimos la grabación: Vasili
Ivanovich empezó leyendo el texto traducido al ruso, si-
guiendo el ritmo de la música. Luego Busch se aproximó al
micrófono y canto las canciones en su idioma original. A
pesar de algunos defectos técnicos en la grabación, este disco
todavía posee un gran valor tanto artístico como histórico."
