$600!). From the first time the
shelved session was discovered in
1976 until now, no one had heard
any of the songs. (
Lawdy Miss
Mary
is on our ‘Groove Jumpin’’
album, Detour 33-003). The other
three titles surface here for the first
time ever.
Teeth And Tongue Will
Get You Hung
was re-recorded in
August 1959 for King Records, entitled
Your
Teeth And Your Tongue
, but it isn’t as fascinating
as the original heard here. Almost the same applies
to the other three songs.
I’ll Follow You
and When
My Troubles End
are fantastic ballads in the
unforgettable FIVE KEYS’ style, while
Your Teeth
And Tongue
rocks as much as
Lawdy Miss Mary
(written by Chuck Willis). For your pleasure,
we’ve also included an alternate take of one
song, as we feel that these will become classics in
the coming years.
