whenwe played a really unusual gig. We had been toldwewould

beplaying inmalmo,Sweden—aprettybigcity—butwhenwegot

to the gig, it was on a farman hour or more outside of town. This

was themiddle of nowhere! the placewas called “The Barn” and

they had concerts there with a band playing on an old flatbed

truck. The owneralso owned a herdof American Buffalo thathe

keptinthenextfieldover.Therewerevarious industrialandfarm

vehicles everywhere, and we were shown an oldschool bus whe-

re we were supposed to sleep. Wow, this was the country, man!

andwhenthesunwentdown,alltheseSwedishhillbilliesstarted

showingup.Itwas inthissettingthat Ifirstsawanamazingband

who opened up for us that night. They were called “The Country

Side Of harmonica Sam.”Wow! They were amazing! They totally

knocked me out.
