televised ‘Trading Post’ show, Owen had a direct line
to fans, and knew that the fresh sound of rock and
roll would be a hit. He incorporated those elements
into his own hillbilly style, adding bouncing bass
and busy guitar licks to his rural sensibilities. Buck
Owens played guitar on the session, which was
recorded in the miniscule former upholstery shop
that Talley and Owen converted into a makeshift
recording facility.
