Beck’s studio in Dallas. His base of operations was in Roswell, New Mexico, where he
had a regular daily radio show on KSWS and a residency at ‘Scotty’s night club‘, one of
the largest of it’s kind in that state. At the time of these recordings, Lee Bell’s band
comprised such talented individuals as Jimmy and Dorothy Blakley, who both went on to
enjoy some success in the late fifties ‘
with their recordings for Starday. Both
sides of Lee Bell’s second RCA release
are presented here. The recordings reflect
the range of material that Bell featured
in his radio show and live act; from the

, to the
emotional slice of pure Texas country,
Get Ready With Those Tears.
Another Texan who joined RCA’s
country roster in the early fifties was
CHARLINE ARTHUR, one of the few
female artists to have made a lasting
impression on the country scene. Her
career has been superbly documented

the highly recommended Bear Family
