Nadine Landry of the infamous Foghorn Stringband. Since their
last release, the Cajun Country Revival has brought their honky

showcasing their new sound as an acoustic group with
accordion, fiddle, guitar and upright bass. From intense Cajun
two-steps to sweet country ballads in English and French,

Nachdem Industrie-Gigant RCA den Erfolg von Indie-Labels wie Atlantic, Chess,
Specialty, Imperial und anderen beobachtet hatte, beschloß das Label, wieder in den
Rhythm & Blues-Bereich einzusteigen. In den 20er und 30er Jahren war RCA das
führendeLabelfürBluesaufnahmengewesen;dochwährenddesZweitenWeltkriegs,als
die Rohstoffe rationiert waren, kündigte das Unternehmen den meisten Bluesmusikern
und ebenso vielen Countrymusikern die Verträge. 1954 beschloß RCA dann, wieder
einzusteigen und holte sich Danny Kessler, den A&R-Mann von Columbia's OKeh Label.
Das Experiment endete 1957 nach nur einem einzigen Hit, Mickey & Sylvia's Love Is
Strange.

Watching the success of indie labels like Atlantic, Chess, Specialty, Imperial, and others, industry giant RCA decided to re-enter
theRhythm&Bluesfield.RCAhaddominatedbluesrecordingduringthelate1920sand'30s,butthecompanydroppedmostofits
blues artists, along with many of its country artists, during wartime raw materials rationing. In 1954, RCA decided to get back in
the game, hiring A&R man Danny Kessler away fromColumbia's OKeh label. The experiment ended in 1957 after notching up just
one major hit, Mickey & Sylvia's Love Is Strange.
