Bonner and Gordon. Gary Bonner and Alan Gordon were one of the hottest American Top Forty songwriting teams of 1965-7. They wrote hits for the Righteous Brothers, Petula Clark, Gary Lewis, Bobby Darin and many other artists, but were best known for the Turtles' No. 1, 'Happy Together', along with many subsequent Turtles' singles in-cluding 'You Know What I Mean', 'Me About You', 'She's My Girl' and 'She'd Rather Be With Me'. Originally half of the Magicians, a New York group that issued several fine singles on Columbia, Bonner and Gordon were affiliated with Koppelman and Rubin's songwriting / production stable. Bonner made a few solo singles until in 1974 the two reunited, and are currently writing songs again.
