Jean Davis, Gwen Oliver und Cassandra Wooten waren als The Yum-Yums bekannt, als sie für den Gründer des Arctic-Labels Jimmy Bishop vorspielten, der sie in Honey and the Bees umbenannte und Nadine Felder als Leadsängerin in die Band aufnahm. Nachdem sich Arctic aufgelöst hatte, wechselten sie zum Jubilee-Label Josie, wo sie 1970 dieses Kleinod aufnahmen. Bei einem Namen wie Honey and the Bees ist es keine Überraschung, dass Love purer, süßer Soul ist, und es ist der Philly-Sound durch und durch, mit Arrangements von Größen wie Norman Harris, Ronnie Baker und Bobby Martin.

Das Medley aus Teddy Randazzo-Songs, das in einer großartigen Interpretation des Royalettes-Hits "It's Gonna Take a Miracle" gipfelt, ist der Höhepunkt, aber die ganze Platte ist pure Magie, so gut, dass wir Mike Milchner von Sonic Vision beauftragt haben, sie für Vinyl neu zu mastern, um sicherzustellen, dass jede Note atmet und singt
