Wer war/ist Joe Hudgins ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD und mehr
By the time he took his momentary plunge into the rockabilly arena, Joe Hudgins appeared in his late thirties. His piano-powered rocker Where Did You Stay Last Night, cut in the spring of 1958, first came out on Marty Robbins’ self-named label with I’m Sorry For You on the flip (Hudgins wrote them both). When Decca picked up Where Did You Stay, the label paired it with another of Joe’s compositions, the country weeper It’s Hard To Go Home. Robbins featured Joe in his troupe when he starred on ‘Town Hall Party’ in Compton, California (Hudgins cut loose with Where Did You Stay). Joe popped up on Starday’s Nashville subsidiary in 1961 with a high-stepping Around The Town and later on the New Star, Antenna, and Clark labels.
