Anfang 1973 ging Gram Parsons auf Tournee, um sein erstes Soloalbum GP zu promoten, das gerade erschienen war. Er stellte eine erfahrene Band zusammen, darunter die damals noch unbekannte Emmylou Harris als seine Gesangspartnerin. Die Auftritte waren anfangs etwas uneinheitlich, aber in der Mitte der Tournee begann die Band ihren Rhythmus zu finden. Für den Pedal-Steel-Spieler Neil Flanz war ein Auftritt besonders bemerkenswert - der dritte Abend im Bijou Cafe in Philadelphia. Neil war der Meinung, dass dies die beste Show der Tournee war und bat um eine Kopie der Soundboard-Aufnahme. Er bewahrte sie fast 40 Jahre lang auf, bevor sie von Amoeba Music erworben und später veröffentlicht wurde. Danach verschwand es für weitere 10 Jahre im Tresor, bevor es wiederentdeckt wurde, als Amoeba in einen neuen Standort in LA umzog. Ein 50 Jahre altes Tonband stellt eine besondere Herausforderung dar, aber dank der Bemühungen einiger der weltbesten Tontechniker, das Archivmaterial zu restaurieren, kommen die Schönheit und Energie von Gram, Emmy und der Band zum Vorschein.
