Nach einer achtjährigen Pause veröffentlicht Timo Gross sein Album "Black Dawg Bone". Allerdings war er in dieser Zeit nicht untätig, sondern konzentrierte sich auf das Schreiben und Produzieren für andere Musiker. Doch schließlich juckte es ihn wieder in den Fingerspitzen und er ging zurück zu seinen Wurzeln und nahm ein dreckiges Blues-Album auf.

Auf "Black Dawg Bone" erreicht Timo Gross einen neuen Höhepunkt in seinem Schaffen. Sein Songwriting hat sich weiterentwickelt, und die facettenreiche Produktion des Albums erlaubt es ihm, die Songs in verschiedene Klangwelten zu transportieren, die den Hörer in unterschiedliche Szenarien eintauchen lassen. Viele der Songs auf dem Album reflektieren die großen Themen des Lebens: Liebe, Tod, Angst und Hoffnung.

Seine markante Stimme, rauchig und manchmal verstörend, dominiert das Album und verleiht ihm eine intensive Ausdruckskraft. Die Gitarrenarbeit ist reduzierter als auf seinen früheren Alben, dafür aber umso eindringlicher und von der Energie eines lebenserfahrenen Künstlers durchdrungen.

Long since the producer, guitarist and singer has earned himself the reputation to keep up with the international blues greats. Not for nothing, five of his releases have been nominated for the “Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik“, until he received the prize 2012 for his album “Fallen from Grace“. As “one of the best songwriters between Blues and Rock“ (Wasser Prawda), he says, “a good song is always about pain, desire, enjoyment and lust“. “It ́s always a reflection of life, transforming it to a another level that is bigger and higher than we are.“ But naturally it ́s also about energy and expression.

As no-one else, Timo Gross understands how to reinvent himself, without losing sight of him- self. Over the years, he has matured as comprehensive artist and craftsman. He plays with influences from rock through funk to soul, combining his emotional singing with his thrilling guitar-playing.
