Wer war/ist Ross' Rhythm Rascals ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD und mehr

Ross' Rhythm Rascals was a short-lived Dallas-based western swing band led by a non-performing grocer named Ross Aldridge, who managed and sponsored the group. In its two sessions for Decca in 1937, the band featured some exemplary musicians, including pianist Jack Hinson, fiddler J. R. Chatwell, and singer William 'Curly' Perrin (1916-1986), the latter a mainstay with the Bill Boyd's Cowboy Ramblers in addition to recording with other groups. Perrin had a melodious, high tenor voice that was the highlight of the band's recording of Tuck Away My Lonesome Blues. The song was based on a melody written by Hawaiian musician Joe Kaipo, to which lyrics were added by Elsie McWilliams. The Rhythm Rascals' recording was marred only by some questionable notes played by an inebriated reed man named Speck Bradley.
