Dieser Rockpalast wurde am 1. Dezember 1976 in der Sporthalle Köln aufgenommen und zeigt die Erfinder des legendären »dual lead-guitar / twin guitar sound« mit der klassischen Besetzung der Band aus Andy Powell (guit., voc.), Martin Turner (bass, voc.), Steve Upton (dr.) und Laurie Wisefield (guit.) in bestechender Form und Spiellaune.

1976 war Wishbone Ash auf dem Zenit ihrer Karriere. Ihre Alben, von »Pilgrimage« bis hin zu »New England«, erreichten weltweit Top-Platzierungen in den LP-Charts, wurden mit Silber und Gold veredelt, die Band war ständig rund um den Globus auf Tour und Tracks wie »The King Will Come«, »Warrior« oder »Blowing Free« erlangten unter den Fans des gitarrenorientierten Progressive Rocks Kultstatus und sind Meilensteine der Rockgeschichte.

Kennzeichnend für Wishbone Ash ist ihr melodischer, gitarrenorientierter Rock, der charakteristisch von zwei im Duett gespielten E-Gitarren dominiert wird. Hinzu kommt ein fast balladenhafter Gesangsstil.
