(2007/BGO Records) 21 Tracks (79:49) - 1967-1968 ABC/Bluesway recordings - Nachdem Rod Piazza Mitte der 60er Jahre eine Zeitlang erfolglos in verschiedenen Rockbands gespielt hatte, veränderte ein Konzert der Butterfield Blues Band das Leben einiger musikbesessener Jugendlicher aus Riverside in der Nähe von L.A. 'Das war der lauteste, gottverdammteste Scheiß, den ich je gehört hatte!', erinnert er sich an jenes Konzert. So wollten sie sein, so wollten sie spielen können. Die Dirty Blues Band entstand, nahm ein erstes Album auf - und zerbrach. Es war Krieg in Vietnam, und die Jungs wurden eingezogen. Rod blieb und gründete auf die Schnelle eine neue Formation und war nach wenigen Monaten wieder im Studio. 'Stone Dirt' entstand. Und wieder brach die Band auseinander. Schließlich gründete Rod Piazza Bacon Fat und später die Mighty Flyers. Der Rest ist hinlänglich bekannt. Hier gibt's beide LPs auf einer CD. Erstaunlich, wie frisch die Aufnahmen auch nach vierzig(!) Jahren klingen. Überaus hörenswert und ein gutes Stück Hippie-Blues aus Kalifornien
