Andy Charles & The Blues Kings
Baby Don't Go came to 'D' from a brief, one off association with Eddie Shuler. This obscure Louisiana rocker was issued in the spring of 1959 and went nowhere. Shuler, yet to move into his own lucrative publishing concern, told Colin Escott in 1995 that he sent these songs to Daily because "I needed a publisher...[and] I offered 'Pappy' the publishing on the songs because I thought he would push it and sell more records that way." It didn't work out that way. Shuler remembered nothing of Andy Charles -- which may have been a pseudonym, at any rate -- except that he came from Lake Charles and sank without a trace after this session.
